Kimmo Halunen is a Professor and Adjunct Professor at the University of Oulu, having received the title of docent in applied cryptography and authentication in November 2018. An advisor at Streamr since October 2017, Kimmo previously led the Applied Cryptography research team at VTT from January 2013 to December 2020 and conducted research on user authentication and applied cryptography. A visiting researcher at KU Leuven for one academic year in 2014-2015, Kimmo has held various academic positions at the University of Oulu, including Research Scientist and Teaching Assistant. Kimmo holds a PhD in Computer Engineering, a Phil. Lic in Mathematics and Computer Science, and an MSc in Mathematics, all from the University of Oulu.
