April Spurlock has had extensive experience in marketing and communications roles. April is currently the Director of Marketing and Communications at Northern Air Cargo, Aloha Air Cargo, Saltchuk Aviation Shared Services, StratAir, LLC, and Northern Air Maintenance Services, all of which they started in 2021. Prior to these positions, April worked as the Communications Director at the City of Los Angeles from 2018 to 2021, and as the Public Relations Manager from 2012 to 2018. Before that, they were the Manager of Special Events at Pepperdine University from 2008 to 2012. April also worked as a Public Relations Assistant at The Lippin Group in 2007 and an Associate Producer at Wingman Productions/Tunnel Post from 2006 to 2007. Their earlier experience includes being a Public Relations and Marketing Coordinator at California Cryobank from 2005 to 2006.

April Spurlock earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a specialization in Public Relations from Oklahoma State University from 2001 to 2004. Before that, they attended Cameron University from 2000 to 2001, but it is not mentioned if they obtained any degree or field of study from there. In terms of additional certifications, April Spurlock obtained a Crisis Communications Master Class certification from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) in 2018. April also earned a TESOL/TESL Certification from Oxford Seminars in 2016.
