Nicholas Pioch serves as the Vice President and Decision Systems Group Lead at STR, overseeing a diverse team in the development of advanced algorithms and decision aids for Command & Control applications. With a strong background in complex distributed systems, Nicholas has held key positions at various organizations, including Chief Engineer, Decision Systems Section Manager, and Principal Research Engineer, where responsibilities spanned R&D management, automated planning technologies, and human-machine interaction. Prior to STR, Nicholas worked at BAE Systems in various leadership roles, including Technology Director and Section Lead, and contributed significantly to AF-sponsored projects at ALPHATECH, Inc., and software development initiatives at BBN. Educationally, Nicholas holds both B.S. and M. Eng. degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
