Alexander Gvakharia is a highly experienced researcher currently serving as Lead Researcher at STR since February 2020, after previously holding the position of Senior Researcher. Before joining STR, Alexander worked at the University of Michigan from September 2012 to February 2020 as a Graduate Research Assistant. Alexander's earlier research experience includes an REU Researcher role at SRI International in 2011 and an Undergraduate Research Assistant position at Jefferson Lab in 2010. Alexander holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Engineering Physics/Applied Physics from the University of Michigan, obtained between 2012 and 2019, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Physics from William & Mary, completed in 2012.
