Michelle Stapp has extensive experience in the healthcare industry, starting as an Occupational Health Nurse at Story County Medical Center in 2018. Michelle later progressed to become the Director of Health and Safety and the Director of Occupational Health at the same facility. Prior to this, they served as the Emergency Services Nurse Manager at Van Diest Medical Center for a period of 24 years.

Michelle Stapp completed their Associate Degree in Nursing at Iowa Central Community College in 1994. In 2021, they received a Bachelor of Healthcare Administration from Mercy College of Health Sciences. Prior to their college education, they attended Webster City High School in 1991.
