Andrew White

Principal Software Engineer at StormHarvester

Andrew White has worked in the software engineering field since 1989. Andrew began their career at (STC) Standard Telephones and Cables as a Senior Software Engineer, where they were responsible for system debug and test of an Avionic Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver, porting the Ada RTS (run-time system) to a new compiler, and designing and implementing compilation support tools for the Ada environment. In 1992, they joined BT as a Software Engineer and Professional (MPG2) in the Systems Design Team, where they were responsible for coordinating the specification and development of BT billing system, and lead design and implementation of phase 1 of the Management and Control Processor (MCP) system. From 1997 to 2003, they worked at Nortel as a Senior Software Engineer, where they were the software architect for a range of SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) multiplexers and a technical \u201cPrime\u201d for multiple software releases. From 2002 to 2003, they were the Owner of WhiteAnorak Computer Company Ltd. From 2003 to 2006, they were a Contractor at BT, where they were responsible for work package definition and estimation, and liaison with off-shore contractors. From 2006 to 2008, they worked at Asidua as a Senior Engineer and Contractor, where they were responsible for embedded design and development of Telecoms software design and code in C/C++, SDH device drivers, and SNMP MIB management. From 2008 to 2011, they worked at Hewlett Packard Enterprise as a Staff Engineer, where they were a global subject matter expert on system rebalancing after upgrades, and a liaison with L1/L2/L3/L4 customer support teams to provide troubleshooting, root cause analysis and corrective actions for customer issues. From 2018 to 2020, they worked at Anomali as a Principal Software Engineer. Currently, they are working at StormHarvester as a Principal Software Engineer and Software Development and Release Engineer.

Andrew White attended Queen's University Belfast from 1981 to 1986, where they earned a BSc in Computer Science. Andrew went on to pursue a Master of Science - MS in Advanced Security and Digital Forensics from Edinburgh Napier University from 2019 to 2023.
