Shelia Young has extensive experience in public service and local government. Currently serving as Board Vice President of Oro Loma Sanitary District since November 2014, Shelia has held various leadership roles, including elected President and Secretary of the Board. Additional positions include serving as President of the Board of Directors for StopWaste, managing environmental services in Alameda County since 2015. Named San Leandro Mayor Emeritus in 2008, Shelia also operates as a consultant specializing in government relations and contributes as a Golf Writer for Ultimate Sports Guide. Their previous roles include advisory board membership for Meals on Wheels and committee membership on the Physician Assistant Committee with the State of California. Shelia's civic engagement began with direct election as Mayor of San Leandro from 1996 to 2006 and serves on the San Leandro Boys & Girls Club Foundation. Education includes an A.A. in Liberal Arts from Chabot College.
