Patrick Ball has worked in the aerospace industry for over a decade. In 2009 and 2010, they were a Mechanical Engineer Intern at Duke Energy Corporation. From 2010 to 2011, they were an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Utah State University's Aggie Air. From 2011 to 2012, they were a Graduate Research Assistant at Purdue University's Zucrow High-Speed Compressor Research Laboratory. Patrick then worked at Rolls-Royce as a Turbine Aerodynamics Design Engineer and Compressor Aerodynamics Intern from 2012 to 2015. In 2015, they became a Propulsion Engineer at The Aerospace Corporation, where they analyzed the performance and operation of SpaceX's Merlin 1D (M1D) booster engine. Patrick then moved to BLUE ORIGIN in 2016, where they worked as a Propulsion Engineer and Sr. Propulsion Engineer. In 2022, they became an Aerodynamics Engineer at Stoke Space.
Patrick Ball obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Minor in Mathematics from Utah State University between 2007 and 2011. Patrick then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering at Purdue University from 2011 to 2013.
