Prof. Joydeep Dutta has held a variety of positions in different companies since 2001. Prof. Joydeep began their career at Bobst SA as an Industrial Project Leader- Special Projects, a fixed term project consultant. In 2003, they joined the Asian Institute of Technology as an Associate Professor, teaching in Microelectronics and Nanotechnology and guiding Master's and doctoral students and research associates. In 2006, they were appointed as the Vice President for Academic Affairs at AIT, where they were responsible for overseeing the academic operations of the schools and coordinating various academic activities. Prof. Joydeep also conceptualized and established the Center of Excellence in Nanotechnology and raised support funds to run the center. In 2011, they joined Sultan Qaboos University as a Chair Professor in Nanotechnology, a role which included taking charge of the building up of a Center of Excellence In Nanotechnology and academic programmes in nanotechnology in the university. In 2015, they became a Chair Professor in Functional Materials at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. In 2019, they were appointed as the Chief Scientific Advisor at Stockholm Water Technology.
Prof. Joydeep Dutta completed their Ph.D. in Nanotechnology from the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science between 1986 and 1990. Prof. Joydeep also holds a PhD certification.
