David Mackay has a diverse work experience in the field of tax and finance. David started their career as a Tax Senior at Grant Thornton in 1994 and later worked as a Corporate Tax Consultant at Arthur Andersen, focusing on the oil industry. David then joined General Motors as a Group Tax Manager, responsible for UK corporate tax compliance. After that, they worked at T-Mobile as the Head of Tax, handling various tax affairs. Following this, they served as the Director of Fresh Time, a laundry and dry cleaning services business, where they successfully set up and sold the company within a year. David then joined Skanska UK as an Interim Group Tax Manager before joining SThree as the Group Tax Manager. At SThree, they eventually became the Global Head of Tax & Treasury, advising the Board and CFO on tax risk management and influencing business planning. Overall, David Mackay has gained extensive experience in tax management and financial advisory roles.
David Mackay attended Kingsridge Secondary School from 1983 to 1988. David then went on to the University of Glasgow from 1988 to 1992, where they pursued an Honours degree in Economics. In 1994, they obtained the Chartered Tax Adviser certification, passing it on their first attempt. In 2021, they completed certifications in "Building Your Visibility as a Leader" and "Developing Your Emotional Intelligence" through LinkedIn.
