Sumet Thabthimthong has extensive experience in logistics and transportation management, currently serving as the Senior Manager of Global Bulk Transportation and Warehousing at Stepan Company since April 2011. In this role, Sumet oversees daily operations of the Warehouse Management department and manages global transportation and compliance. Previously, as Senior Corporate Specialty Transportation Manager, Sumet handled a $45 million budget for various transportation modes, implementing strategies to lower costs and enhance service levels. Prior experience includes serving as Strategic Logistics Sourcing Manager at Celanese International Corporation, where annual costs were reduced by over $17 million while improving reliability. Additionally, Sumet held sales and management positions in Southeast Asia and Thailand early in the career, leading to a comprehensive understanding of logistics and customer service. Academic qualifications include an MBA in Marketing from Murray State University and a Bachelor of Sciences in Material Sciences/Chemistry from Chulalongkorn University.
