Michael Schmidt has extensive experience in environmental management and engineering, currently serving as Air Compliance Lead and previously as Environmental Manager and Environmental Engineer at Stepan Company since February 2015. Prior experience includes roles as an Environmental Engineer at Flint Hills Resources and as Environmental and Regulatory Affairs Manager at James Environmental Management, where responsibilities included developing essential environmental plans. Michael's earlier career involved troubleshooting and managing wastewater systems as an Environmental Engineer at Viscofan USA, Inc., and collaborating on research projects as a Research Technician with the Illinois Natural History Survey. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
