Juan Bournat has worked in the field of research for over 20 years. Juan'scareer began in 1998 when they were a Research Associate at Lankenau Institute Medical Research, where they studied Wnt-1 dependent activation of NFkappaB. In 2001, they began working as a Research Associate at Baylor College of Medicine, where they worked on projects related to genetics basis of male infertility and congenital genitourinary defects, activin effects on metabolism, and decorin promoting scar tissue remodeling and decreasing axon growth inhibitors within acute spinal cord and CNS injuries. In 2019, they moved to MD Anderson Cancer Center as a Research Scientist. In 2022, they began working as a Research Scientist at Stellanova Therapeutics.
Juan Bournat has a comprehensive educational background, beginning with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from Universidad Simón BolÃvar, which they completed in 1991. Juan then went on to earn a Master of Science (MS) in Cellular Biology from the same institution in 1994. Finally, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Medicine from the University of Glasgow in 1997.
