Michael Belardo's work experience includes holding the role of Senior Manager - Financial Analysis and Reporting at STELCO - The Steel Company of Canada since January 2019. Prior to that, they were the Controller at The Second Cup Ltd. from May 2017 to January 2019. From October 2015 to May 2017, they worked as the Senior Manager, Finance, Retail Financial Process Analytics at Shoppers Drug Mart. Before that, they held the position of Senior Manager, External Financial Reporting at Loblaw Companies Limited from February 2013 to October 2015. Michael's career began at BDO Canada, where they worked as a Manager, Assurance & Accounting from January 2003 to January 2013.

Michael Belardo completed their Bachelor of Administrative Studies with a specialization in Honors Accounting at the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies at York University. Their education at York University ended in 2008.

In addition to their degree, Michael also obtained several certifications. In 2009, they became a Chartered Professional Accountant and a Chartered Accountant through the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. In 2012, they obtained a Certificate in International Financial Reporting Standards from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Michael also obtained the Certified Information Systems Auditor certification in the same year from the Information Systems Audit and Control Association.
