Additional experience includes positions as a Sales Engineer at Matthiessen Lagertechnik GmbH, Research and Development Engineer at Manufacture à Besançon, Process Engineer Intern at COOP DE FRANCE, Junior Quality Control Coordinator at Grupo Pantaleon, and a Laboratory Assistant at Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala. Funes holds a Master of Science in Process and Environmental Engineering from INSA Toulouse and a Master's in Food Technology and Management from Universidad del Valle de Guatemala, along with a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala.
