Patrick Miller has had a diverse range of work experiences in the transportation and planning field. Patrick started their career at Stantec as an Urban Land Development Summer Student, where they gained hands-on experience in construction management. Patrick then interned at Steer Davies Gleave as an Assistant Consultant, furthering their research and working on transportation planning challenges for municipalities across Canada.

Patrick's academic background includes a PhD in Sustainable Transportation Planning from the University of Calgary. During their time there, they focused on researching the contributions of mass transit to sustainability.

In 2012, Patrick was selected as a JSPS Summer Fellow with the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science. During this fellowship, they applied their research to Japanese public transit systems, with the aim of refining sustainability assessment tools and providing insights for the planning and development of transit systems.

Patrick joined Steer in 2013 and progressed through various roles, including Consultant, Senior Consultant, and Principal Consultant. In their most recent role as the Market Lead - Transportation Strategy and Business Case Analysis (North America), they led Steer's market team in developing transportation strategies, evaluating business cases, and providing governance models and policies for clients across North America. Patrick'sexpertise includes high-speed rail, rapid transit, regional/commuter rail feasibility analysis, and transport demand management.

Patrick Miller's education history includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Calgary, which they obtained from 2006 to 2010. In 2012, they also completed a JSPS Fellowship at Kumamoto University, conducting research in Transportation Planning.
