Sonny Albarado serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Arkansas Advocate, an online news outlet under the States Newsroom network, since June 2022. Albarado has extensive experience in journalism and mass communications, including roles such as Projects Editor and Acting City Editor at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette from 2007 to 2020. Albarado has held several board positions, including membership with the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications and the SPJ Foundation, and previously served as President of the Society of Professional Journalists. An Honorary Doctor of Letters from Nicholls State University and a Bachelor's Degree in English from the same institution complement Albarado's professional accomplishments.
