Rune Smedstuen has work experience as a Principal Engineer in the IT Section of Statens vegvesen from October 2009 to present. Prior to that, they worked as an IT Consultant at Kristiansand Bompengeselskap from August 2008 to October 2009.

Rune Smedstuen obtained a Bachelor's degree in IT & Information Systems from the University of Agder (UiA) between 2004 and 2008.
