Spencer Salend is a Professor of Special Education at SUNY New Paltz, a position held since September 1981. Prior experience includes serving as an Assistant Professor of Special Education at Lehigh University from September 1978 to June 1981 and working as a teacher for the NYC Department of Education from September 1972 to July 1975. Spencer earned a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Special Education from the University of Kentucky between 1975 and 1978, a Master of Science (MS) in Special Education from Lehman College from 1972 to 1975, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science with Social Studies Certification from the University of Buffalo from 1967 to 1971.
