Torry Crass currently serves as the State Chief Risk Officer for the State of North Carolina and as a Cyber Security Advisor/vCISO at Associated Universities, Inc., where assistance is provided to clients in developing cybersecurity programs and offering advisory services. Crass is an active member of the Advisory Board for Wallarm and co-chairs BSides Charlotte, focusing on enriching the information security community through conferences and training opportunities. Additionally, Crass holds a role as an Adjunct Instructor at The Citadel, teaching Security+ in National Guard Cyber Boot Camp sessions. Previous positions include Agency CISO for the N.C. State Board of Elections, CISO at LEO Cyber Security, and Manager of Information Security at SPX Corporation, with extensive responsibilities in cybersecurity program development, team management, and incident response. Crass has earned degrees in Information Science and Technology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and in Physics and Astronomy from The University of Kansas.
