Kate Craft

Senior Vice President, Safety & Health at State Compensation Insurance Fund

Kate Craft's work experience spans over several years and includes various roles and positions in the insurance industry. Kate began their career at The Hartford in 1994, working as a Personal Lines CSR & Underwriter and later as a Commercial Lines Underwriter. Kate then joined Chubb as a Commercial Lines Underwriter, where they focused on negotiating large and complex accounts. After that, they worked at St. Paul Companies as a Technology Underwriter, managing a territory of new and renewal business.

In 2004, Kate joined CNA as a Technology Director, where they played a key role in building the new Technology division and conducting underwriting training. Kate later moved to The Hartford again, where they held the positions of Commercial Lines Manager and Specialty GL Practice Leader, managing teams of underwriters and strengthening relationships with agents.

From 2012 to 2015, Kate worked at CNA Insurance as a Branch Underwriting Director, responsible for managing underwriting and support staff, implementing operational plans, and building relationships with agents and brokers.

In 2015, they joined Nationwide as Director and later as AVP, leading a team of sales associates and implementing regional profit and growth strategies.

In their recent work experience, Kate returned to State Compensation Insurance Fund, first as Senior Vice President Regional Operations - Orange County from 2018 to 2020, and then as Senior Vice President, Safety & Health from 2020 to the present. In these roles, they provided executive leadership, oversaw strategic management, business development, broker relationships, and customer service.

Additionally, in 2020, Kate briefly served as Vice President at Alliant Employee Benefits- Western Region before returning to State Compensation Insurance Fund.

Throughout their career, Kate Craft has demonstrated their expertise in various aspects of insurance, including underwriting, management, business development, and executive leadership.

Kate Craft earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology from San Diego State University in the years 1988 to 1994. Later, from 2020 to 2022, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from California State University-San Bernardino. Additionally, they obtained certifications in "Implementing Winning Strategies" from Columbia Business School Executive Education (obtained year not specified) and "CRIS" from IRMI in August 2013.
