Cara Davis is an experienced business and marketing strategist, who has a proven track record in securing funding and designing comprehensive go-to-market strategies. Cara is currently the VP of Operations at Starface, but they got their start in the industry as the Co-Director of MIT Hacking Arts. In this role, they led a team of graduate students and professionals to design and organize a two-day festival for 500+ creative technologists, industry experts, artists, entrepreneurs and students at the MIT Media Lab. The festival explored the intersection of technology, entrepreneurship, and creative industries (i.e., fashion, entertainment & media, design, arts, etc.) through panels of industry leaders, interactive workshops, live performances and a 48-hour hackathon.
Before their work with MIT Hacking Arts, Cara was a Co-Founder at Elemen, where they partnered with a team of MIT PhDs in AI and Biochemistry to build an automated intelligence system that develops ultra-personalized skin care product formulations. Cara also led a cross-functional team of six people in engineering, design, and marketing. During their time at Elemen, Cara secured 100% of available funding from MIT's startup accelerator by creating comprehensive investor pitches for monthly Board meetings (Board included venture capitalists, serial entrepreneurs, and industry leaders). Additionally, they designed all aspects of the startup's go-to-market strategy, including marketing messaging, customer acquisition strategy, pricing strategy, competitive landscaping, business model, market size estimation, and target customer selection.
Cara Davis has a Master of Business Administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they focused on entrepreneurship, product & marketing strategy, and sustainability. Cara also has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Spanish from Georgetown University. Cara has also studied at Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Thayer Academy.
