James Tweedie-Long began their work experience as a Web Development Contractor at William Smith Studios in 2009. James consulted with clients, constructed web pages, and managed hosting and other aspects of website development. From 2009 to 2010, they also worked as a self-employed Web Developer at J Tweedie Website Development, where they created affordable websites for start-ups and small businesses.

In 2010, Tweedie-Long joined Eldin Management Ltd as an ERTMS Support Technician. James maintained and fault-found ERTMS computer systems on trains and provided technical support to train drivers.

Starting in 2011, Tweedie-Long joined TransUnion UK and held various roles within the Data Loading and Staging product development team. James designed, built, and improved SQL Server databases and SSIS packages, handling millions of data records daily. James advanced rapidly in the company, achieving two promotions in less than three years.

In 2018, Tweedie-Long joined Hiscox as a SQL Data Warehouse Developer, where they developed and supported the Enterprise Data Warehouse and implemented DevOps practices. James upgraded source control systems, implemented automated builds, and resolved bugs in a multi-threaded SQL CLR assembly. James also enhanced PowerShell deployment scripts.

Currently, Tweedie-Long works at StarCompliance as both an Associate Engineer and a Lead Engineer in Product Development. James'srole involves software development and implementing improvements to systems and processes.

James Tweedie-Long's education history is as follows:

In 2006, they attended Siddal Moor Sports College, where they completed their secondary education. James then pursued further studies and obtained a BTEC National Diploma in IT for Practitioners from Hopwood Hall College in 2007. In 2008, they attended Bury College, although no degree or field of study is specified.

In 2009, James enrolled in Southdowns College for two different programs. James completed an ABC Level 3 degree in Data Management for Web Design and an ABC Entry Level degree in Reading and Writing in another Language - Japanese. In 2014, they attended QA Ltd and studied M10774 (Exam 070-461) Querying Microsoft SQL Server 2012.

In terms of additional certifications, James obtained the ERTMS Trainbourne Maintainer Course from Signet Solutions, Inc. in October 2010. James also holds the following Microsoft certifications: Querying Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (August 2014), Microsoft Certified Azure Data Fundamentals (DP-900) (November 2021), and Microsoft Certified Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204) (February 2023). Additionally, they received diving certifications, including PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and PADI Dry Suit Diver from Diving Leisure, although specific dates are not provided for these certifications.
