Rick Huijbregts is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in operations, education, and smart city initiatives. Currently, Rick serves as the Operations & Education lead at Protexxa and the Global Lead for Smart Cities at Stantec. Rick's academic involvement includes roles as Senior Scholar and Vice President at George Brown College, along with being an Executive-in-Residence at both Ryerson Venture Zone and the Center for Construction and Engineering Technologies. As the Founder & CEO of Oranje Innovations Inc., Rick drives innovation in building technologies. Previous positions at Cisco include managing digital transformation efforts and leading initiatives in Smart + Connected Communities. Rick holds a Doctor of Design from Harvard University and various certifications from MIT Sloan School of Management and Harvard GSD Executive Education.
