Michael Newman has been serving as a firefighter with the City of Stamford Fire Department since May 2021, following a role as a paid on-call firefighter at the Onset Fire Department from June 2019 to May 2021. During the time at Onset, Michael participated in an extensive in-house recruit program while attending the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, culminating in a Bachelor of Science degree in Crisis/Emergency/Disaster Management in 2021. Michael's responsibilities included both hands-on firefighting duties and a supervisory role in subsequent internships, where essential skills in emergency management and team leadership were developed.
