Jonathan Ellis has extensive work experience in the legal field. Jonathan started their career as an intern at the Office of Congressman William "Mac" Thornberry, where they gave tours of the Capitol building and conducted policy research. Jonathan then worked as a Local Government Services Program Specialist at the Panhandle Regional Planning Commission, where they prepared grant applications and sought funding for various projects. Jonathan also served as an intern to Justice James T. Campbell at the Seventh Court of Appeals of Texas.
In 2012, Jonathan gained experience in the legal sector through multiple positions. Jonathan worked as a law clerk in the Consumer Protection Division of the Office of the Texas Attorney General, conducting research and preparing memos. Jonathan also interned at the United States District Court, Northern District of Texas, assisting Judge Sam R. Cummings.
From 2012 to 2013, Jonathan was a Qualified Student Representative at the Low-Income Tax Clinic, Texas Tech School of Law. In this role, they provided assistance to low-income taxpayers in various disputes with the IRS and conducted legal research and analysis.
In 2013, Jonathan joined Southcross Energy Partners, L.P. as a Contract Administrator and Associate Counsel, carrying out responsibilities related to contract administration.
From 2015 to 2017, Jonathan worked as a Corporate Counsel at Flatrock Engineering and Environmental, LLC, and from 2017 to present, they hold the position of Corporate Counsel at Stakeholder Midstream, LLC.
Jonathan Ellis completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and Government, with a minor in Legal Studies, from West Texas A&M University in 2008. Jonathan then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Political Science and Government from the same institution between 2008 and 2010. Ellis later attended Texas Tech University School of Law from 2010 to 2013, where they earned a Doctor of Law (JD) degree.
