Maurits Vande Reyde has extensive experience in the political and economic sectors, currently serving as a member of the Vlaams Parlement and as Schepen for the City of Diest, focusing on smart city initiatives, finance, economy, accessibility, and city marketing. Previously, Maurits held the position of Economic Advisor at the Belgian Telecom Regulator (BIPT) and served as Budgetary Advisor in various capacities for the Open Vld party, including advising the Flemish Minister of Finance and the Flemish parliamentary fraction. Engagement in youth leadership roles included serving as Chairman of Jong VLD. Maurits began a career in politics with an internship at the European Parliament. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Applied Economic Sciences from KU Leuven and a Bachelor's degree in Managerial Economics from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
