Day Shift, Monday-Friday

The Accounting Clerk completes payroll processes as well as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash receipts posting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process payroll
  • Prepare payroll reports
  • Reconcile bank account balances
  • Review and maintain accurate ledgers
  • Compile bank deposit; bank and post office runs
  • Distribute mail
  • Assist with customer pricing and invoicing
  • Process merchant account transactions
  • Aging; pull reports, process, and make appropriate calls and emails
  • Send statements
  • Enter AP
  • Process credit card payables
  • Prepaid expense reconciliation
  • Process expense reimbursement
  • Posting payments
  • Assist in month-end closing processes
  • Maintain filing systems
  • Assist in maintaining 5S Standards in the office
  • Maintain punctual, regular and predictable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate’s degree or certificate in accounting; 3 years experience in accounting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
