Sierra Payne is an experienced educator with a strong background in teaching English as a Second Language and art across various educational settings. Currently serving as an English Second Language Teacher at Acadian Middle School since August 2019, Sierra previously held positions as an Art Teacher at St. Thomas More Catholic High School and St. James Parish Public School System, as well as in an itinerant role for St. Mary Parish School Board. Sierra's early career included a position as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Louisiana State University, where responsibilities included teaching introductory agriculture courses and grading. Additionally, Sierra has experience in customer service from roles at Pluckers Wing Bar and Arts On Fire, along with a summer camp counselor position at Nicholls State University. Sierra holds a Master of Science in Historic and Cultural Textiles from Louisiana State University, an Add-on Certification in English as a Second Language from Our Lady of Holy Cross College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Art Education from Nicholls State University.
