Cynthia Schon is the Director of Facilities at the St. Louis Symphony, a position held since August 1995, where management of the historic Powell Symphony Hall entails oversight of a $1,000,000 annual budget for maintenance, security, and renovations. Cynthia has also taken on the role of "Mom" since 2000, engaging with the community through their daughter's education and activities. Prior experience includes serving as an Assistant in the Athletics & Fitness Department at IMG in 1991-1992, focusing on global sports marketing, and working as an Operations Assistant at the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra from June 1986 to December 1990, which provided foundational knowledge in concert hall management. Cynthia holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Music and Political Science from Indiana University Bloomington, earned between 1982 and 1985.
