Alex Shapiro is an accomplished Chief Philanthropy Officer at the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, with a strong background in fundraising and institutional advancement. Previously, Alex served as Vice President of Philanthropy at the Kansas City Symphony, where over tenures, more than $13 million was raised in FY22 and a $55 million endowment campaign was successfully completed. Other significant roles include Director of Institutional Advancement at the Institute of American Indian Arts, where a 50% increase in annual giving was achieved, and Executive Director at Santa Fe Pro Musica, where fundraising efforts resulted in substantial income growth. Alex's early career involved various consulting roles and leadership positions that contributed to significant expansions and financial improvements in multiple nonprofit organizations. Alex holds a B.A. in Theatre from Columbia University.
