Eric D. Schmid is a seasoned journalist currently serving as a Contributing Reporter for the Mississippi River Basin Ag & Water Desk, focusing on environmental and agricultural issues impacting the 10 states along the Mississippi River. Since June 2019, Eric has acted as an Economic Development Reporter for St. Louis Public Radio, where efforts have centered on economic opportunity within the St. Louis region. Previous roles include serving as a Freelance Reporter, producing content for major programs like NPR's Morning Edition, and a News Fellow at WSHU Public Radio Group, where coverage expansion and team training were key contributions. Eric's extensive experience is complemented by a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and a Minor in Business Management from Stony Brook University.
