Erin Kidd came to St. John's in 2014 and teaches courses in systematic theology and gender studies. She received her B.A. in philosophy from Gordon College, her M.T.S. in the history of Christianity from the University of Notre Dame, and her Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Marquette University.
Her research focuses on the body, particularly as it informs and intersects topics in theological anthropology, theological method and God-talk, feminist theology, and science and religion.
She is an editor, with Jakob Rinderknecht, of Putting God on the Map: Theology and Conceptual Mapping (Fortress Press, 2018), a volume on interdisciplinary work in theology and cognitive science. She is currently working on a manuscript entitled Doing Theology from the Gut, which draws on insights from a number of disciplines (cognitive science, trauma studies, and affect theory) to develop a feminist theological account of the body.
