Matthew O'Regan is an experienced barrister currently practicing at Matrix Chambers since May 2024 and previously at St John's Chambers from April 2015 to May 2024. Matthew has also held positions as a Partner at Burges Salmon LLP from January 2012 to September 2014 and as Counsel at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP between January 2000 and December 2011. Matthew served as an Assistant Solicitor at Herbert Smith from 1995 to 1999 and worked as a Case Handler for competition cases at the Office of Telecommunications (OFTEL) in 1996. Additionally, Matthew was a Stagiaire in the Legal Department at Airbus Industrie in 1994. As a Co-Editor of the Competition Law Journal since June 2016, Matthew contributes to the academic community. Matthew's educational background includes an LLB (Hons) from the University of Nottingham, an LLM in EC International Trade Law from the University of Amsterdam, and a PG Diploma in Legal Practice from Nottingham Law School.
