Kathleen Murphy possesses extensive experience in educational leadership and teaching. Currently serving as Principal at SAU 39 since July 2017, Kathleen previously held the role of Assistant Principal for Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. Kathleen has also contributed to St. Anselm's College as an Adjunct Professor, teaching courses focused on elementary school reading and mathematics since September 2015. Prior experience includes serving as Special Education Director for Allenstown School District from June 2014 to June 2017 and as an Elementary School Special Education Teacher at Sanborn Regional School District from July 2010 to June 2014. Kathleen began a career in education as a 2nd Grade Teacher with the NYC Department of Education from July 2009 to June 2010. Kathleen holds a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Leadership and Administration from Plymouth State University, alongside a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership. Additional academic qualifications include a Masterā€™s Degree in Special Education and a Bachelorā€™s Degree in Elementary Education from Manhattan University.
