Neil Cathey has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Neil started in 2001 as an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent at The Hermitage Golf Course. In 2004, they joined the State of Tennessee as a Golf Course Superintendent until 2008 when they became a Parks Superintendent at Uintah Recreation District. In 2015, Neil Cathey transitioned to SSC Services For Education, where they held multiple roles including Sr. Project Manager - Grounds Specialist, Regional Director of Operations, and currently Sr. Project Manager.

Neil Cathey attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville from 1994 to 1999, where they pursued a degree in Anthropology with a focus on Cultural Anthropology. Neil then went on to enroll at Penn State University from 2000 to 2022, majoring in Turf Management with a specialization in Turf and Turfgrass Management.
