Matheus Takatu Barros has extensive work experience in various industries, starting with a role as an Undergraduate Researcher at the Universidade de São Paulo from 2007 to 2009. In 2011, they worked as a Manufacturing Intern at Ourofino Agronegócio before transitioning to a Marketing Intern role at Siemens Healthcare from 2012 to 2013.
Barros then pursued a Master of Science in Health Policy and Management | Health Economics at the Schneider Institutes for Health Policy from 2014 to 2016. During this time, they also served as a Research Assistant, working on projects related to the costs of dengue burden and the cost-effectiveness of interventions. Additionally, they were a speaker at the First Regional Dengue Symposium.
In 2015, Barros joined SRS Medical as a Marketing Graduate Intern before being promoted to Product Manager in 2016. Lastly, they participated in a summer graduate internship program at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health in 2015, focusing on the Prevention and Wellness Trust Fund grant and its implementation in the town of Framingham and the MetroWest area.
Matheus Takatu Barros holds a Master's Degree in Health Policy and Management, with a focus on Health Economics, which they obtained from Brandeis University in the years 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at USP - Universidade de São Paulo, earning a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from 2006 to 2012.
In addition to their formal education, Matheus has also obtained additional certifications. Matheus completed a Nanocourse on Decision Analysis and Cost-effectiveness Analysis for Public Health and Clinical Decision Making at Harvard Medical School in April 2015. Matheus also received a Yellow Belt certification in Six Sigma from Siemens in September 2013.
