Gene Crumpler has a diverse work experience with various roles in different companies. Gene is currently working as a DevOps Engineer at SpyCloud since October 2021. Previously, they worked at SecureLink from 2008 to 2021, where they held positions such as DevOps Engineer, System Engineer, and Technical Operations Lead. Before that, they worked at Quantum Digital as a Business Solutions Specialist from 2007 to 2008. Gene also has experience working at Sears as a Commercial Account Manager from 2006 to 2007 and in Retail Sales and Management from 1998 to 2006.

Gene Crumpler attended The University of Texas at Austin from 1997 to 2000, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science. In 2008, they enrolled at Texas State University and completed their studies in Computer Science in 2011. Additionally, Gene has obtained several certifications, including "Designing RESTful APIs" and "Unit Testing in Python" from LinkedIn in July 2020, as well as "Linux Foundation Cert Prep: User and Group Management (Ubuntu)" and "Advanced Linux: The Linux Kernel" from LinkedIn in June 2019 and May 2019 respectively.
