Luis Antunes has worked in the software engineering industry since 2007. Luis started as an Application Developer at 9 Track Mind and then moved on to Software Developer roles at Candata Systems and L.V. Lomas Limited. In 2010, they became a Software Engineer at NamSys Inc. and then worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Guidewire Software from 2011 to 2017. In 2017, they joined Thomson Reuters as a Senior Software Engineer for the Center for Cognitive Computing. In 2019, they moved to Deep Genomics as a Senior Software Engineer and in 2020 they became a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Uncharted Software. Most recently, they joined SpotHero in 2022 as a Senior Backend Engineer.

Luis Antunes began their educational journey in 1997, when they completed an Hon. B.Sc. in Chemistry at the University of Toronto. Luis then went on to pursue an M.Sc. in Chemistry at York University, which they completed in 2004. In 2006, they obtained a Certificate in Technical Communication from Seneca College. Currently, Luis is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Machine Learning and Chemistry at the University of Reading, which they are expected to complete in 2023. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Data Structures and Algorithms in Java from Udemy in September 2022.
