Jake joined SPMB in 2018 to support Jon Landau’s emerging markets search practice, which focuses on high-growth Tech hubs—including Denver, Salt Lake City, Austin, and Chicago to name a few. Today, Jake leads searches to identify top talent for a variety of early to late-stage, venture capital, private equity, and publicly-traded tech companies. He has a diverse portfolio of completed searches within B2B and B2C SaaS/ PaaS/ IaaS companies spanning from fintech, consumer, big data, insurtech, security, autotech, and many more.

Jake enjoys continually learning from the candidates and clients he represents, while also encouraging (and sometimes challenging) them to think differently about their career and business goals. He leverages his diverse set of search experiences to customize each project with the ultimate goal of finding the “dream” placement for both parties. Jake’s focus and drive come from the belief that “you’re only as good as your last search”!

Prior to SPMB, Jake was a technical recruiter, placing senior-level tech consultants for Fortune 500 companies across the Denver Metro region. With his technical background, paired with his experience placing both mid- to executive-level talent, Jake has built the knowledge necessary to drive successful outcomes for his clients and their leadership teams.

Outside of work, Jake serves as president of the Denver Athletic Club’s Young Professional group. Jake graduated from Colorado State University with a B.A. in Media Communications and carries a Certified Diversity and Inclusion Recruiter certification and a professional certificate in Negotiation Mastery from Harvard Business School Online.
