Torsten Franz serves as the Chief Consultant Hand Surgeon at Spital Uster since July 2012 and has been involved with the Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Handchirurgie as Vice President for 2024/2025 and as a Council Member since November 2017. Additionally, Torsten Franz has contributed to ZHAW Gesundheit as an External Lecturer for CAS Hand Therapy since 2011. Previous experience includes roles as a Consultant Hand Surgeon at Inselspital Bern, Senior Resident Hand Surgeon at Kantonsspital Luzern, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Bürgerspital Solothurn, and Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon at Inselspital Bern. Education includes an extensive training in various surgical disciplines, concluding with a medical degree from The Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg in 1998.
