Sean Black, PhD, is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the aerospace industry. Currently serving as Senior Vice President, Chief Technology Officer, and Chief Engineer at Spirit AeroSystems since September 2016, Sean Black has held various leadership roles, including Vice President Chief Engineer for Commercial Programs and Research & Technology. Prior to this, Sean Black worked at Airbus Group Inc. from August 2005 to September 2016, taking on key positions such as Head of A350XWB US Programme Management and A350XWB Project Director. Earlier in the career, Sean Black served as Engineering Manager for Boeing Programmes at BAE Systems and as a Systems Integration Specialist at Marconi PLC. Sean Black began academic endeavors as a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at The University of Dundee after earning a Ph.D. in Engineering from Liverpool John Moores University and a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Abertay University.
