Bill Snyder has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Bill started their career at Quicksilver Software, Inc. in 1988, where they worked as a Senior Software Engineer. During their time there, they worked on various projects involving video games, educational software, device drivers, and productivity software, utilizing programming languages such as C, C++, Perl, SQL, bat, and bash.
In 2006, they joined SafeNet, Inc. as a Principal Software Engineer. Bill contributed to projects related to software rights management and commercial and government cryptographic appliances. SafeNet was later acquired by Gemalto in 2014, after their departure. Gemalto was subsequently acquired by Thales.
From 2014 to 2015, Bill worked at 90METER INC. as a Principal Software Engineer. In this role, they maintained the company's software for smart cards authentication, requiring a deep understanding of asymmetric cryptography and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
Since 2015, Bill has been working at Sphere, initially as a Software Engineer and later as a Lead Software Engineer. At Sphere, they contributed to the development and maintenance of software used for electronic payment processing. As a Lead Software Engineer, they also took on additional responsibilities such as mentoring and leading a team, reviewing code, and managing expectations.
Throughout their career, Bill has demonstrated proficiency in various programming languages including C++, Java, SQL (PostgreSQL & SQLite), Perl, Python, PHP, and Objective-C.
Bill Snyder attended UC Irvine from 1985 to 1989, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Information and Computer Science.
