Anthony Hoang

Software Engineer at Sphere Payments

Anthony Hoang has a diverse work experience in the field of software development. Anthony started their career as an intern at the UC Irvine Computer Science Department, where they implemented the Leap Frog algorithm and programmed a Java-based N-Body simulator. Anthony then participated in the Greenfoot CodePoint Game Developer Contest, competing against other students worldwide and creating games like Quest, GreepWars, and Vector Ball.

Furthermore, Anthony worked as a Microsoft Student Partner, collaborating with Microsoft professionals and assisting in various campaigns for Xbox 360, Windows Phone, Windows 8, and Windows Phone 8. Anthony created multiple Windows 7 Phone apps and encouraged student participation, as well as gained experience in creating Windows 8 apps using XAML and C#.

Anthony's work experience also includes being a member of the Irvine Video Game Developer Club, where they worked on game projects as a lead programmer and competed in Game Jam contests. Anthony developed games in C# and C++, with support for Xbox 360 and mobile devices, and created a C# game engine using XNA and MonoGame.

In their role as a Student Web Developer at the Office of Information Technology, Division of Undergraduate Education, Anthony focused on ASP.NET MVC, MSSQL, and ASP.NET Webforms. Anthony expanded their knowledge and skills in these areas during their tenure.

Prior to this, Anthony worked at Kadho Inc., where they served as a Backend Architect, Game Developer, and Web Programmer. Anthony then joined Caseology as a Lead Software Developer, managing a team of developers and using the .NET stack to plan and develop software solutions. Anthony also developed a cloud-based software infrastructure using Microsoft Azure and AWS, providing software tools to various teams in the company.

Most recently, Anthony joined Sphere as a Software Engineer, where they developed and maintained legacy .NET 4.5 applications for the business. Additionally, they collaborated in an Agile team and contributed to the design of a new software suite in .NET.

Anthony Hoang obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Game Science from UC Irvine, where they studied from 2010 to 2014.
