Bill Lakeland has a diverse work experience in the geospatial industry. Bill started in 2003 as the General Manager and VP of Aerial Operations at Selkirk Remote Sensing Ltd, where they worked until 2007. In 2008, they joined Aero-Photo (1961) Inc. as the Branch Manager until 2010. From 2010 to 2016, they were the Co-Owner and Vice-President of Kisik Aerial Survey. Since 2017, they have been the CEO of Spexi Geospatial Inc.

Bill Lakeland completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Geography at Simon Fraser University from 1993 to 1999. Bill furthered their education by earning a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with a specialization in Management of Technology MBA from the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University, which they attended from 2015 to 2017.
