Terry Hemann has been an educator for over 20 years. Terry began their career as a elementary school teacher in the Mineral Point School District. After six years of teaching, they were promoted to elementary school principal, a position they held for six years. In 2006, they were again promoted, this time to superintendent of the district. Terry served in that role for five years before moving to their current position as superintendent of Spencer Community Schools.
After graduating from Emmetsburg High School, Terry Hemann attended Iowa State University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Education. Terry then went on to Drake University to earn a Master of Science in Educational Leadership and Administration, General.
