Sandhya Nair has a strong background in research and laboratory work. Sandhya started their career as a Research Assistant at the University of New South Wales in 2009 and then progressed to become a Laboratory Demonstrator. Sandhya also worked as a Research Assistant during this time. In 2015, they joined SpeeDx Pty Ltd as a Research Assistant and later became a Research Associate. In 2018, they were promoted to the position of Senior Research Associate. Currently, they hold the role of Research Supervisor at SpeeDx Pty Ltd.

Sandhya Nair completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Medical Bioscience at Monash University Malaysia from 2005 to 2008. After that, they pursued further studies and obtained a Bachelors of Science (Hons Class I) degree in Molecular Biology from UNSW between 2008 and 2014.
