Danilo R. Onishi has a diverse work experience with a focus on machine learning and software engineering. Danilo R. is currently working as a Machine Learning Engineer at Speechlab since 2022. Previously, they worked at VoiceOps from 2021 to 2022, where they designed a training pipeline for text-to-text models, trained and evaluated these models, and wrote new back-end APIs for legacy NLP systems. Before that, they worked at an Online Learning Platform from 2020 to 2021 as a Machine Learning Specialist, where they trained and improved automatic speech recognition (ASR) models and designed a scalable back-end API for text recognition. Danilo also has experience as a Software Engineer at Yume Technology Co.,LTD. from 2014 to 2019, where they were subcontracted to Honda Research Institute Japan Co. Ltd. In addition, they worked as a Development Engineer and Electronics Engineering Intern at Unify in 2009 and as an Electronics Engineering Intern at Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná in 2008. Their earlier experience includes internships at Ensitec Tecnologia and Eclipse Alarmes in 2006.

Danilo R. Onishi completed their education with a Master of Engineering degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Nagoya Institute of Technology, from the years 2011 to 2013. Prior to their master's degree, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a major in Electronics/Telecommunications from Federal University of Technology - Parana, from the years 2005 to 2010. In addition to their formal education, Danilo also obtained several certifications in machine learning and neural networks from Coursera, including "Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization" in October 2017, "Structuring Machine Learning Projects" in October 2017, "Neural Networks, and Deep Learning" in September 2017, and "Neural Networks for Machine Learning" in January 2017.
