David Thomason has over four decades of experience in nonprofit leadership, currently serving as the President & CEO of Special Olympics Virginia, Inc. since September 1987. Prior roles at Special Olympics Virginia included Vice President of Advancement, and various directorships focused on events and athlete leadership. Before joining Special Olympics, David held the position of Director for the Capital Area at the American Heart Association | Virginia Affiliate from December 1984 to August 1987 and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer from July 1983 to December 1984. David's educational background includes a degree from William & Mary, obtained between 1979 and 1983.
