Naomi Abou El Aala

Head Of Youth Engagement And Safeguarding at Speakers for Schools

Naomi Abou El Aala has extensive experience in youth engagement and development. Naomi currently serves as the Head of Youth Engagement and Safeguarding at Speakers for Schools, where they ensure young people's voices are considered and informs program developments. Naomi also leads transformational change across the organization and ensures high standards of safeguarding. Prior to this, they held the role of Head of Youth Volunteering and Deputy DSO at the same company.

Before joining Speakers for Schools, Naomi worked for Catch22 as the Operations Manager South West NCS, overseeing the overall operational performance of the National Citizen Service in the South West region. Naomi also represented the organization regionally and nationally.

Naomi's previous experience includes roles at vInspired, where they served as the Head of Youth Engagement and managed youth involvement and engagement. Naomi also managed a national schools volunteering program and was the designated safeguarding lead. Naomi was the Programme Manager before taking on the role of Head of Youth Engagement.

Additionally, Naomi has experience as the Youth Action Manager at Fitzrovia Youth in Action, managing a borough-wide youth project and working in partnership with youth organizations and charities. Naomi has also worked at the University of Hertfordshire Students' Union as the Student Volunteer and Development Manager and the Volunteer Coordinator, and at Watford YMCA as the Princes Trust Team Leader. Naomi started their career as a Personal Advisor at Herts Careers Service.

Naomi Abou El Aala pursued higher education at De Montfort University from 2005 to 2008, where they obtained a Master's degree with a JNC in Youth Work and Community Development. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire from 1997 to 2001. Additionally, Naomi has an additional certification, the MA Youth and Community Development with JNC, however, the details of the institution, month obtained, and year obtained are not provided.
